Prior to his appointment as Acting Chief Executive of the Capital Markets Authority Kenya, Paul Murithi Muthaura was the Director, Regulatory Policy and Strategy at the Authority.

In his time with the Authority he has also held positions as the Head of Legal Framework and Head of Enforcement.

Mr. Muthaura is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and is the holder of a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Warwick, a Masters in Banking and Finance Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science and is currently undertaking a Doctorate in Business Administration at the Maastricht School of Management.
